How to read the rating. In 27A · 183B · C, the letter is the fire class (A solids, B liquids, C gases, F cooking oils) and the number is the size of the test fire the extinguisher puts out under EN 3. The higher the number, the greater the extinguishing capacity. Class C carries no number.
